Brentford took full control in the first half, netting three goals in a devastating 15-minute period. Mikkel Damsgaard was instrumental in the Bees’ attacking display, setting up Yoane Wissa and Bryan Mbeumo for two clinical finishes. Mbeumo then turned provider, delivering a well-placed free-kick that Christian Norgaard headed home.
The visitors could have added more before half-time, with Kevin Schade denied by the woodwork and Keane Lewis-Potter seeing a goal ruled out for handball. After the game, Van Nistelrooy admitted that Leicester’s position was dire and appeared to suggest that the quality of his squad was not good enough to compete in the Premier League.
“We have to accept that we are in a position where every week we face a better team,” Van Nistelrooy said. “We have to prepare a team to be the best we can be. We cannot ask more from ourselves. In the end you have to look at performing at the maximum of your capabilities. I cannot ask the players to do more than that. With the squad we have, it’s a huge mountain to climb to stay in this league, a huge one. That’s the reality.
"Today it showed that when we make a couple of mistakes and we didn’t perform at our best, Brentford was too big a challenge for us. It’s not fair to have certain expectations. You cannot live up to them. You can only be the best you can be. We’ll see at the end if it’s enough or not. So far we’re in that bottom three for a while and every game we play, we almost face a better side than ourselves. WHAT HAPPENED?
Earlier this month, the players union issued a legal threat to the Premier League regarding its proposed introduction of new financial rules, which could include a system that limits how much clubs can spend on transfer fees, agents’ fees and player wages. The PFA, which has the support of Manchester United and Manchester City among others, has accused the league of a "flagrant breach" of an agreement that requires the union to be consulted on issues affecting players' compensation and working conditions through the Professional Football Negotiating and Consultative Committee (PFNCC).

As per , Premier League CEO Richard Masters has stated that the league might now think about quitting the PFNCC. With the Premier League filing a lawsuit to override the players' union's veto power, Masters informed teams that the disagreement with the PFA could need to be settled through arbitration. If such a move didn't work out, the league may take the drastic measure of exiting the PFNCC.

After replying in writing to the PFA's legal letter, Premier League insiders have told that they have been dissatisfied with the lack of interaction with union leaders and are still awaiting a reply from the PFA regarding the same.
It may be too early to say with any authority, but it is starting to look like Arsenal might be returning to their incredible best.

The United boss doesn’t start his job until next Monday, and any players arriving or leaving cannot happen until January, but it appears as though INEOS are getting their ducks in a row and are shortlisting players they are interested in ahead of the New Year and next summer.
Jarrad Branthwaite was a player of extreme interest to United during the summer, as they had two bids worth up to £50 million rejected by Everton. Now, according to a new report, United are plotting a fresh offer for Branthwaite, as they believe he would be the perfect fit in Amorim’s 3-4-3 system.

This comes after it was reported that Harry Maguire is keen to reject any January transfers and fight for his place at Old Trafford. The 31-year-old is in the final year of his contract at United, and there is no indication that he will be offered a new deal, but he is set to reject any approaches in January and fight for his place, as the club do have the option to extend his deal by 12 months, and he believes that could happen.
Signing a new centre-back may be a priority for Amorim, but signing a new left-back or left-wing back seems more urgent, and therefore, that may explain why they are keen to land this £10 million-a-year player.

According to reports in Spain relayed by Football365, Manchester United are “determined” to sign Alphonso Davies by offering him a “huge deal”. The Bayern Munich defender is in the final year of his contract, and it looks unlikely he will sign a new one in Germany, meaning he can sign a pre-contract agreement with United in January to leave for free in the summer.
The Canada international, who earns £10m-a-year in Germany, has been at Bayern Munich since January 2019, when he joined from MLS side Vancouver. Davies has been an excellent signing for the German heavyweights, as shown last season, where he scored two goals and recorded six assists in 29 Bundesliga games.
The report states that United are determined to beat Real Madrid to the signing of the left-back. The Spanish giants are still considered the favourites to sign Davies, but the Red Devils want to “steal him” from the European champions.

According to Italian outlet Tuttojuve, the Chelsea head coach is now driving the Blues’ interest in Borussia Dortmund forward Karim Adeyemi, trying to pip Juventus to his signature.
Maresca admires the 22-year-old’s pace and balance, according to Tuttojuve, and sees him as a top target. Paris Saint-Germain and Liverpool are also understood to be interested in Adeyemi, however, who is valued at €35 million (£29 million) and has three years left on his contract at the Signal Iduna Park.
