Barbados offspinner Ashley Nurse has been called up to the West Indies A squad that will tour India later in September, in place of Shane Shillingford. The A tour of India is set to begin on September 15 and will comprise three one-day matches, one T20 and three four-day matches.Nurse had enjoyed a successful debut first-class season for Barbados, finishing third in the wicket-taker’s list with 45 scalps. Shillingford was the overall leader with 71.As the original West Indies A squad had been announced on August 28, and the West Indies tour of India announced subsequently on September 4, the WICB sought to replace Shillingford in the A squad and use Nurse in his place. Shillingford will most likely be in the Test squad for the tour of India, which begins at the end of October.It was also announced that the schedule had been adjusted, with all the matches barring the last four-day game in Hubli being brought forward by a day. أعلن نادي أستون فيلا الإنجليزي، تعاقده رسميًا مع باو توريس، بعد توصله إلى اتفاق مع فياريال الإسباني.

ولم يكشف أستون فيلا في بيانه الرسمي عن قيمة التعاقد، لكن أفادت تقارير الصحف أنه حسم الصفقة مقابل 32.5 مليون يورو بالإضافة إلى 5 ملايين يورو إضافية.

All through this Test match, there’s been a wait for Zimbabwe’s inexperienced team to falter. Sure they bowled well when the pitch was fresh in the first session of the game, but could they do it when the track eased up? They did. Sure they bowled well on the first day, but could their brittle batting stand up to Pakistan’s highly rated bowling? They did.The third day was supposed to be the best day for batting in Harare; would their new-look bowling be able to do the job? They certainly started well, bagging three early wickets to consolidate on the 78-run advantage they had after the first innings, causing plenty of excitement over the possibility of Zimbabwe’s first Test win over a top eight side in 12 years.Then they came up against the seasoned firefighters, Misbah-ul-Haq and Younis Khan, who with some old-fashioned Test batting helped Pakistan erase the deficit. There has been a clamour in Pakistan for inducting more youngsters in the team, but it was Pakistan’s two oldest batsmen who revived the side from a precarious 23 for 3 with a 116-run partnership.Both Younis and Misbah were content with preserving their wicket, not searching for quick runs. They were happy to leave everything they could and put away the flashy shots – the reverse-sweep was brought only to counter a 7-2 leg-side field when offspinner Prosper Utseya was operating round the wicket. The pair neutralised Zimbabwe’s limited attack for more than three hours and though they were plenty of half-chances – stumping appeals, inside-edges and bottom edges – the wicket proved elusive.Younis ended the day unbeaten on 76, a significant innings for a man who had only one 50-plus score in his past 10 Test innings, and was phased out of the ODI side earlier this year. He has made his name as a man who scores when the team is down, a reputation he underlined with another combative innings.Though the favourite adjective to describe Pakistan cricket is ‘mercurial’, there is one near certainty when they play – a Misbah half-century. In 10 of his past 13 international innings, he has passed 50, almost all of them after the top order has combusted. On none of those occasions has he gone on to a hundred, and he didn’t today either.Zimbabwe would have been downcast if Pakistan had gone to stumps with only three wickets down. Instead, soon after Misbah reached his fifty, he pushed a catch to cover. Zimbabwe knew just how big a moment it was. The bowler Shingi Masakadza set off on a celebratory run, before pumping his arms and screaming at the skies. In contrast, Misbah was on one knee, bat on the floor with his arms covering his face.Younis and Shafiq safely negotiated the final 11 overs of the day, taking the lead to 90 and ensuring two specialist batsmen were still in the middle.The rescue operation was needed after some good work from Zimbabwe’s bowlers. As in the first innings, they produced the early breakthroughs not with magic deliveries but by sticking to the basics of line and length.The sixth over of the innings, bowled by Tinashe Panyangara, which produced the wicket of Khurram Manzoor showcased their method of operation – pitching the ball up and constantly attacking the stumps, making the batsman play. With several deliveries swerving away in the over, Manzoor decided to shoulder arms to one, which turned out to be a straight ball that thudded onto his pads. It looked a touch high but the umpire thought otherwise, and for the second time in the game, Manzoor’s innings ended early through a tough decision.Azhar Ali, who played a vital role in rescuing Pakistan after their top-order failed in the first innings, couldn’t do the job this time, as the accurate Panyangara had him trapped lbw for a duck. Neither of the opening bowlers provided any cheap runs, and Panyangara’s figures read 7-4-6-2 at one stage.Mohammad Hafeez has had a forgettable 2013 in Tests, and could have added a golden duck to his string of low scores this year, but his first-ball edge landed short of slips. He didn’t last too long anyway, falling tamely after driving a low catch to short cover. His dismissal for 16 left him with a paltry 64 runs in eight innings this year.That strikes only buoyed a resolute Zimbabwe, whose lower order had hung around for more than an hour in the morning session to fatten what had been a slender overnight lead. Saeed Ajmal’s variations proved too much for them, though, and he wiped out the final three wickets to end up with a seven-for, the second of his career. His threat looms large over Zimbabwe over the next two days as well.

أعلن نادي برشلونة الإسباني في بيان رسمي قبل قليل، إلغاء مباراته الودية أمام يوفنتوس، والتي كان مقرر إقامتها فجر الأحد.

New Zealand batsman Peter Fulton has said he is looking forward to the challenge of playing in Bangladesh, his first Test series in the subcontinent. New Zealand play the first of their two Tests against Bangladesh starting October 9 in Chittagong. They will also play three ODIs and a T20 on their tour.Fulton, who has played 15 Tests since his debut in 2006, has been preparing for the series by practising on worn-out tracks with his team-mate Dean Brownlie.”The good teams, the good players are able to adjust to any conditions,” Fulton told the . “That’s probably the biggest challenge you have in international cricket. All around the world, you get different conditions, different types of bowling attacks and that’s what makes it exciting. There’s always something new to come to grips with.”Fulton, who was dropped from the side in 2009, earned a Test recall in 2012 against South Africa. His comeback, however, was cut short due to injury. Fulton, however, returned with a successful domestic season, scoring 1249 runs in 23 innings at an average of 59.47 and five hundreds. He carried that form into the Test series against England in March, finishing with 347 runs in five innings at an average of 69.40, including centuries in both innings of the Auckland Test. With a busy season scheduled for New Zealand, Fulton has set his sights on cementing his place for the home Tests against India.”Hopefully that’s the plan,” Fulton said. “In terms of Tests for New Zealand over the last few years, there’s sometimes been a bit of a shortage, so it’s good to see a pretty busy Test programme and it’d be nice to be part of that.”

É de conhecimento que o meio-campista reecontrará Fernando Diniz, seu técnico na época da Audax e Oeste, mas a relação entre eles é mais forte que o vínculo profissional. O comandante teve papel decisivo na reconstrução da carreira do atleta após a perda do seu filho.

Léo Artur foi uma promessa badalada das categorias de base do Corinthians, campeão da Copa São Paulo de 2012 como um dos personagens principais e promovido por Tite ao elenco profissional no ano seguinte. Apesar da boa projeção, não conseguiu fazer frente a nomes como Emerson Sheik, Romarinho, Jorge Henrique e até Alexandre Pato. Foi emprestado diversas vezes até que a sua carreira ganhou um triste capítulo em 2016.

Aos 21 anos, enquanto se transferia do Mogi Mirim para o Audax, Léo perdeu o seu filho de dois anos. Na época, a família estava arrumando a mudança para Osasco. A criança foi até a piscina e acabou se afogando. A tragédia mexeu com o meio-campista, que passou a cogitar a aposentadoria precoce desde então. O atleta lembrou desse momento em entrevista ao L!, em 2017.

– Vou te contar uma coisa que poucas pessoas sabem: nesse último ano acabei perdendo meu filho, e por isso meu amadurecimento precisou ser maior. A perda dele fez eu enxergar coisas que não enxergava antes, porque me senti perdido. Pensei muitas vezes em dar um tempo na carreira, mas minha família, meus empresários e os psicólogos deram todo suporte que eu precisava – declarou Léo Artur.

Quando tudo parecia ruir, Léo Artur conheceu Fernando Diniz e passou a ter uma relação de filho com o treinador. O atual técnico do Fluminense se encontrou com o atleta, que vinha de quatro empréstimos seguidos e o ajudou a se reerguer na carreira – seja do ponto de vista pessoal ou profissional. A aposentadoria foi deixada de lado e reencontrou o seu melhor futebol. O comandante falou sobre a ajuda que deu ao meio-campista.

-Escutar tudo, estar sempre disponível para ele falar, porque ele vinha muito sensível. Há momentos em que ele precisava de espaço para desabafar e isso sempre ofereci para ele. A gente conseguiu trabalhar juntos para amenizar essa dor, que não tem cura, é para a vida inteira. O que podemos fazer é oferecer o máximo de apoio para amenizar um pouco. Tentei ficar perto dele o máximo que podia. Ele conseguiu, na medida do possível, se restabelecer, jogar muito bem – contou Fernando Diniz, em 2017, em entrevista ao ‘UOL’.

-A ideia foi criar uma relação de abrir espaço para ele se sentir à vontade. Acho que a gente, no Audax e no Oeste, conseguiu não só comigo, mas criar um ambiente de trabalho assim. O Léo é de Osasco, teve a família por perto perto e isso ajudou. No trato com ele não tem muito segredo, eu não precisava chamar atenção para nada – completou Diniz.

O meia Léo Artur, de 23 anos, é oficialmente jogador do Fluminense. Clube e jogador concluíram os últimos trâmites para a assinatura do contrato de empréstimo que é válido até o final do ano. Revelado pelo Corinthians, o atleta passou por equipes do interior de São Paulo, além do Paysandu, até chegar à Ferroviária, equipe pela qual se destacou no Campeonato Paulista deste ano.
