Will Jefferson posted his second century of the season to steer Leicestershire into a strong position on the second day of the County Championship match against Derbyshire at Grace Road.The 31-year-old opener hit an unbeaten 117 as Leicestershire progressed to 201 for 2 by the close having dismissed Derbyshire for 305. Matthew Hoggard and Claude Henderson took four wickets apiece as Derbyshire lost their last five wickets for 35 runs during the morning session.Then Jefferson and Tom New shared an opening stand of 141 with Leicestershire looking to press home the advantage they have gained. Jefferson, back in the side after missing two Clydesdale Bank 40 games because of a thigh strain, was in superb form reaching his century off 165 balls with his 12th four a sweetly-timed off drive off Mark Turner.Jefferson’s innings also included a magnificent six struck over long on off Azeem Rafiq who was making his Championship debut for Derbyshire having joined them on a one-month loan from Yorkshire.That shot took Jefferson to 50 and came in the same over that Rafiq had claimed a tumbling return catch. It was not given after umpires Nigel Llong and Ismail Dawood had conferred and decided their was enough doubt about whether the ball had carried.That was the only semblance of a chance Jefferson provided to the toiling Derbyshire attack. New on the other hand, needed rather more luck to reach his half century. He was dropped at slip by Usman Khawaja off Greg Smith when he was on 30 and was fortunate to see other edged shots fly through to the boundary.But New rode his luck, stuck to his task and gave Jefferson the support he needed before being caught by wicketkeeper Luke Sutton flicking at a leg side delivery from Jonathan Clare.Paul Nixon fell five overs later top-edging an easy catch to Sutton trying to sweep left arm spinner Chesney Hughes. But James Taylor and Jefferson saw things safely through to the close with the latter unbeaten having put together an impressive 117 off 202 balls.The pre-lunch session had also gone Leicestershire’s way after Derbyshire began on 238 for 5. From that position they were looking to build a big total but a fine six-over spell from Hoggard undermined them.He took 3 for 25 to finish with figures of 4 for 78 and although Sutton became the third Derbyshire player to make a half century he was unable to push on for a bigger score. He was out to an excellent slip catch by Jefferson giving Henderson his fourth wicket of the innings leaving both sides with two bonus points each.

Danish Kaneria’s exclusion from the national team looks set to continue for a while yet, after the PCB has said the communication the legspinner sent the board from his former employers Essex “failed to satisfy requirements” of the integrity committee.The PCB had asked Kaneria to send them a certificate of clearance from Essex following his arrest by police and eventual release last summer in a spot-fixing case involving another player from the county. Earlier this week, Kaneria sent the board an email from Essex in which the club thanked him for his services and explained the reasons he was not being offered another contract. It was an email he had already submitted to the board late last year.”We have responded to Kaneria,” PCB spokesman Nadeem Sarward told ESPNcricinfo. “The clearance letter he sent is something he sent to us six months ago and which we had. We sought legal opinion and confirmed with the ECB, and decided that the document failed to satisfy the requirements of the PCB. So Kaneria has been advised to provide a clearance certificate at the earliest.”What exactly constitutes a “clearance certificate” is unclear: “We just want an idea of what Essex say about him and the case. They were his employers at the time. Will they consider him now?” is what the board’s legal advisor Taffazul Rizvi told ESPNcricinfo recently. Whether or not Essex will or can provide such a document is another matter altogether. Indications from board officials suggest that such a certificate may not arrive so readily, which leaves a question mark over Kaneria’s international future.Kaneria, presently Pakistan’s leading Test wicket-taker, has not played internationals since last summer. He was selected as part of the squad to face South Africa in a series in the UAE in November 2010, but was prevented from travelling by the PCB at the last minute. The board said he had not been cleared by the integrity committee, newly-formed in the wake of the Lord’s spot-fixing scandal.Since then, Kaneria has submitted various financial records and documents and appeared in front of the committee several times, but hasn’t managed to satisfy members. Until recently, the committee was asking him for transcripts of his questioning by police in the case, something Kaneria and his lawyers insisted they could not provide as it was part of an ongoing investigation in the UK.”This is an integrity issue for us,” Rizvi had said nearly two weeks ago, when asking for the clearance certificate. “The committee is not just made up of board members or cricketers, it has an ex-judge of the Supreme Court on it and in their opinion, Kaneria had not satisfied them so he has not been cleared. We can’t take a risk, so we have asked for this clearance now.”

A última penhora em relação ao banco estatal aconteceu na semana passada, quando a desembargadora Patrícia Serra, da 10ª Câmara Cível do Tribunal de Justiça do Estado do Rio de Janeiro, determinou o bloqueio de até R$ 1.167.685,72 para pagar a croata Natasa Osmokrovic, jogadora de vôlei do Vasco no início deste século.

Osmokrovic está desde 2005 está na Justiça tentando receber atrasados do Vasco. Conseguiu no período várias penhoras, mas o clube seguia recorrendo e evitando o pagamento. Em 2017 foi feito um acordo entre as partes, o que foi descumprido pelo Cruz-Maltino agora (confira a seguir a decisão na íntegra).

Até na verba da venda do Paulinho o Vasco já sofreu com penhora. Na segunda-feira, a juíza Débora Maria Barbosa Sarmento, da 7ª Vara Cível do Tribunal de Justiça do Rio, determinou penhora de R$ 442.530,54 referente à transação do atacante por conta de uma empresa de consultoria que entrou em ação contra o clube em 2013. No ano de 2014 foi feito um acordo, homologado pela Justiça no mês de novembro, com transitado em julgado em dezembro, mas foi descumprido com a Justiça sendo acionada novamente em 2015 e a nova ordem de penhora decretada (confira abaixo).

Valor de R$ 442.530,54 da venda do Paulinho corre risco de penhora. Uma empresa de consultoria esportiva entrou na Justiça em 2013 contra o Vasco, um acordo foi feito em 2014, mas descumprido em 2015 pelo clube. Embargos de declaração foram rejeitados em 1a instância #lanceVAS

Carille foi efetivado no Corinthians no fim de 2016 e comandou a equipe em 114 jogos, com 59 vitórias, 32 empates e 23 derrotas (aproveitamento de 61,1%). Ele conquistou três títulos: Paulista em 2017 e 2018 e o Brasileirão de 2017.

O contrato de Carille com o Timão era válido até o fim de 2019, com opção de renovação automática por mais um ano. A multa rescisória do treinador é de R$ 300 mil, valor de um salário.

Carille disse em julho de 2017, em entrevista à Rádio Jovem Pan, que não sairia do Corinthians “nem por um caminhão de dinheiro”. Na semana passada, após o vazamento do interesse do clube árabe, ele afirmou que seriam “dois caminhões”, que poderiam fazer ele mudar de planos. Antes do acerto com o Al Wehda, Carille esteve na mira do Al Hilal, também da Arábia Saudita.

Como o LANCE! mostrou, além do fator financeiro, Carille mudou de ideia por não ter tanta confiança no presidente Andrés Sanchez, que assumiu o clube no início de fevereiro, e por poder levar sua comissão técnica. O treinador chegou a recusar uma proposta de um clube chinês com “valores loucos”, como ele mesmo classificou.

Além disso, Carille deixa o Corinthians com os objetivos até agora desta temporada cumpridos: título paulista, entre os primeiros colocados do Brasileirão (terceiro) e classificado para as quartas de final da Copa do Brasil e para as oitavas de final da Libertadores.
