A permanência de Reinaldo Rueda no Flamengo em 2018 já tornou-se uma novela. No entanto, a mesma já tem data para terminar de acordo com a publicação de “El Mercurio”. O jornal do Chile publica que o treinador já tem um pré-acordo com a seleção do país, mas a federação aguarda a virada do ano para avançar nos últimos detalhes por conta de uma questão financeira.

Reinaldo Rueda tem vínculo com o Flamengo para a próxima temporada. Com isso, há uma multa rescisória para quebra de contrato de ambas partes. De acordo com “El Mercurio”, o valor de cai de 1 milhão de dólares para 400 mil doláres em 2018 – uma diferença, aproximadamente, R$ 2 milhões.

O Flamengo, por sua vez, manteve o silêncio sobre o caso nos últimos dias. A diretoria, por sua vez, sempre mostrou confiança que o colombiano cumprirá seu contrato e o inclui no planejamento da próxima temporada. A indefinição, no entanto, freou a movimentação do clube no mercado, já que aguarda o retorno de Reinaldo Rueda aos trabalhos apenas no início do próximo mês.

O currículo de Rueda, com passagens pelas seleções da Colômbia, Honduras e Equador, e o seu perfil de trabalham o condicionam a favorito da Federação do Chile. Na última semana, o presidente da entidade, Arturo Salah, reuniu-se com o técnico em Cali, na Colômbia, onde o treinador passa férias, mas garante que não houve acerto entre as partes, mas avaliou a “reunião como muito boa”.

With England needing six runs off the last over, with four wickets in hand, it looked like an easy win for the visitors in the first Twenty20 in Mumbai. But four balls later they needed two with two wickets in hand. A dot ball off the fifth meant two from the final ball. Nicky Shaw hit the last ball back to the bowler Gouher Sultana and scrambled a run. Sultana turned to run her out at the non-striker’s end, missed, and with no one backing up the ball went for an overthrow and England won by two wickets. They had held their nerve better than India, but marginally so.The England bowlers had done well to keep India to 125 and though their batsmen eased into the chase, the target was too low to cause any worries. In the last four overs they needed 30 with four wickets in hand. Jenny Gunn and Danielle Hazell scored 19 off the next two overs – Gunn hit the only six of the match when she lofted Jhulan Goswami over long-off and Hazell then pulled her for four to fine leg. They had required just 11 off the last two overs before the drama of the final over.Gunn top scored with 34 and her 40-run seven-wicket partnership with Hazell came at more than seven an over. But before their stand, the captain Charlotte Edwards led the chase with a 32-ball 28 and added 37 with Beth Morgan (16) and 32 with Lydia Greenway (16). The rookie spinner Soniya Dabir, playing only her third international game, dismissed both Edwards – caught at midwicket – and Greenway – stumped. According to Sky Italy, the Magpies have agreed personal terms with the full-back and are now hoping to strike a deal with Atalanta for his services.

The report claims that the Toon are set to triple his current wages by handing him a €3m-per-season contract (£2.5m) at St. James’ Park.

This news will surely leave Howe feeling elated for several reasons. Firstly, it suggests that Newcastle are closing in on their third signing of the window with almost half of the month left to go.

PIF are working hard behind the scenes to improve the head coach’s squad and three signings with half of the window gone would be an impressive effort, considering Kieran Trippier and Chris Wood have both arrived on permanent deals.

There is no hiding away from the club’s need to strengthen their team further as the lack of quality in the group was exposed again on Saturday. They let a lead slip in a crucial relegation six-pointer against Watford as they were held to a 1-1 draw after Allan Saint-Maximin handed them the lead, with Joao Pedro equalising for the away side to leave the hosts 19th in the table.

Therefore, Howe will be buzzing for further additions to his team, particularly if one of them comes in the form of Gosens. The German international has been sensational in the Serie A in recent seasons, showing off his quality and versatility in Italy – playing at left-back, left-wing and in central midfield.

In the 2020/21 campaign, he produced an outstanding 11 goals and six assists in 30 starts, averaging a WhoScored rating of 7.19. Whilst contributing in the final third, he almost made 2.7 tackles and interceptions per game, showing that he can make an impact at both ends of the pitch.

This suggests that he could come in and improve Newcastle both in attack and in defence, with his ability to defend his own goal and cause problems for defenders in attack. Therefore, he could be a superb signing for the Toon and that is why Howe will be elated with the club agreeing terms with him and now pushing to make him their third signing of the window.

West Ham United have seen a second offer rejected in their attempts to bring Valentin Castellanos to the London Stadium in the January transfer window.

That’s according to a report by Italian media outlet TuttoMercatoWeb (via Sport Witness), who claimed that, after seeing an initial €8m (£6.7m) offer for the New York City FC centre-forward refused by the Major League Soccer side, West Ham subsequently submitted an improved €10m (£8.5m) bid for the 23-year-old.

However, the report added that this offer has also been refused by the American club, and at present it is unclear whether David Moyes and Rob Newman will make a third bid for the Argentina under-23 international.

Perfect Gabigol alternative

Considering just how impressive Castellanos was for New York City last season, the 23-year-old would very much appear to be a perfect alternative to another of West Ham’s reported attacking targets this month, namely Gabriel ‘Gabigol’ Barbosa.

Indeed, over his 35 MLS appearances last year, the £6.3m-rated striker was in astonishing form for Ronny Deila’s side, scoring a whopping 22 goals, registering eight assists and creating eight big chances for his team-mates, as well as taking 4.1 shots and making 1.1 key passes per game.

These returns saw the £3.5k-per-week marksman earn an extraordinary seasonal SofaScore match rating of 7.28, ranking him as the 21st-best player in the MLS in 2021.

Furthermore, Pep Guardiola is also clearly a huge fan of the Argentine striker, with the Manchester City manager stating of Castellanos: “I think he is a guy whose next step will be in Europe. What I’ve seen, and when the scouting department talk to me, I think he is a quality player ready to make the next step. We will see where.”

As such, while NYCFC seem to be playing hardball regarding the future of the 23-year-old this month, it would appear that a deal for Castellanos will nevertheless be much cheaper to get over the line than the club’s 18-month loan and €30m (£25m) option-to-buy offer which is currently on the table for Gabigol.

Also, when taking into account the Argentine’s goalscoring record in the MLS last season, he could well be just as promising a coup as his Brazilian counterpart in any case.

Celtic are interested in a deal to bring Mehdi Ghayedi to Parkhead in the January transfer window.

What’s the talk?

That’s according to a claim made by Hatam Shiralizadeh (via The Scotsman), with the journalist revealing in a post on Twitter that Celtic have made an official offer to Shabab Al Ahli for the 23-year-old, although the UAE side are believed to have rejected this bid as they do not want to part with the versatile winger this month.

However, Shiralizadeh goes on to state that Ange Postecoglou is desperate to seal a deal for the Iran international before the end of the current transfer window, with Celtic thought to be preparing a second offer for the forward.

In his post, the journalist said: “Shabab Al Ahli have turned down an official bid from Celtic for Mehdi Ghayedi. UAE side don’t want to sell the Iranian striker in January, however, Celtic are determined to sign the young talent, so they are planning to offer a new bid for the 23-year-old.”

“Jota-type trickster”

Despite his tender age and diminutive stature – standing at just 5 foot 5 tall – it is easy to see why Postecoglou is so eager to get a deal over the line for Ghayedi this January.

Indeed, the left-winger – who can also be deployed on the right flank and at centre-forward – already boasts a quite incredible record of goals scored and assists provided in his short professional career, having bagged 41 goals and registered 27 assists over 154 outings for Esteghlal FC, Iranjavan FC and Shabab Al Ahli – directly contributing to a goal every 159 minutes of football played.

However, it is not only the number of goals that is impressive about the £1.08m-rated forward, but also the quality of his strikes.

Indeed, Ghayedi appears to have something of a knack for popping up in the dying stages of a match when his side are most in need of a moment of magic, such as his 94th-minute winner against Sharjah FC back in September.

The 23-year-old picked up the ball in the middle of the park before sitting a defender down and curling a shot into the far corner – with the finish being dubbed an “extraordinary killer goal” by ADSportsTV.

As such, it is not difficult to understand why Bhoys Analytics recently dubbed the youngster a “Jota-type trickster,” nor why Navid Molaaghaei described Ghayedi a “magician,” as the Iranian starlet very much seems to be a player in the same mould as the Portugal U21 international, as well as undoubtedly being a talent who has a much higher ceiling than someone like Mikey Johnston, or even James Forrest.

Fábio Carille fechou o primeiro ano de sua carreira como técnico profissional consagrado pelos títulos do Campeonato Paulista e Brasileiro pelo Corinthians. Já cansou de dizer que nem sonhava com tamanho êxito logo de cara. Mas como fazer para o sucesso não subir à cabeça? Essa é uma das preocupações do comandante alvinegro e seu remédio é estipular desafios para não cair no risco de “mascarar”, expressão corriqueira no futebol para se referir a um profissional deslumbrado.

Em entrevista exclusiva ao LANCE!, Carille contou que projeta ficar no Corinthians por muito tempo para quebrar a cultura brasileira de trocar técnicos como se troca de roupa. O trabalho de longo prazo, na visão dele, seria o melhor passaporte para outro passo bem mais ambicioso: Carille quer ser o primeiro técnico brasileiro a triunfar em um clube na Europa.

– O ser humano é movido a desafios. Então, sei que não é fácil o que vou falar, mas quando eu falo que quero ficar três, quatro ou cinco anos em um clube no Brasil, eu sei que é difícil, mas é um sonho. Para isso, eu tenho que trabalhar, não me acomodar e fazer cada vez mais. É uma coisa que me incentiva cada vez mais: buscar conhecimentos, buscar isso, buscar aquilo… Quem sabe eu não seja o primeiro da minha geração a fazer sucesso em um time da Europa? Porque o Felipão fez, sim, sucesso, mas lá na seleção de Portugal – declarou o treinador campeão brasileiro.

Historicamente, técnicos brasileiros não possuem êxito em grandes clubes europeus. Recentemente, dois dos principais dos últimos anos tiveram aventuras frustradas. Em 2005, Vanderlei Luxemburgo até começou bem no Real Madrid (ESP), mas foi demitido sem completar um ano de trabalho e não conquistar títulos. Felipão durou ainda menos no Chelsea (ING) em 2009. Caiu em menos de sete meses, sendo que um dos motivos apontados foi a falta de bom relacionamento com o grupo, algo negado pelo treinador. É essa barreira que Carille quer romper e já tem dado passos neste sentido.

Em setembro, já com o título brasileiro encaminhado, o treinador estendeu seu contrato com o Corinthians até dezembro de 2019, com possibilidade de renovar por mais um. Terminada a temporada, abriu mão de parte das férias para concluir um curso na Confederação Brasileira de Futebol (CBF). Atualmente, técnicos brasileiros precisam de licença concedida pela entidade para ingressar no futebol europeu.

– Eu sou movido a desafios e objetivos, e isso faz com que eu mantenha o trabalho com equilíbrio e determinado – afirma o treinador.

Carille também tem tido um cuidado maior com a postura e seus hábitos. Passeios no shopping com a família têm sido menos frequentes. Em Sertãozinho, sua terra natal, já não anda mais vestido despretensiosamente, afinal agora é o comandante do Corinthians e precisa passar uma boa imagem. Até o modo como trata a imprensa tem sido motivo de reflexão do treinador. Há quem diga que ele alterou a postura depois dos títulos. Carille admite, mas diz que é por estar menos tímido e não por “marra”.

– É uma preocupação que eu tinha, enfrentar vocês da imprensa – diz.

No seu objetivo de virar um treinador o mais completo possível, tem se voltado para a gestão de pessoas. Conta com um trabalho especial do ex-treinador Renê Simões, que acaba de montar uma empresa para ajudar os treinadores a resolver problemas da carreira. Situações que vão muito além das escolhas dos 11 titulares e esquema tático.

– Renê hoje é mestre em coaching. E ninguém melhor que ele pela vivência que teve. Ele não me fala de tática, de quem tem que jogar, nada disso. De comportamento, me ajudou muito também nas entrevistas. Manda mensagens diárias, não falo com ele, só leio e guardo. Nos momentos difíceis ele falava para eu não mudar minha forma de ser para não causar desconforto entre os atletas. Ele me ajuda nisso, no modo de agir, na gestão de pessoas. Tem me ajudado bastante. Está ajudando também o Zé Ricardo (do Vasco ) e Jair Ventura (do Botafogo) – conta Carille.

Campeão paulista, brasileiro, 100% de aproveitamento contra o rival Palmeiras. Em um ano, Carille passou de auxiliar contestado para técnico de ponta e um dos mais aclamados do país. O sucesso está aí. Agora, o projeto é mantê-lo sem deixar de ser… Carille!

Como estão suas saídas com a família? Você gostava muito de ir a shopping…
Continuo indo, bem menos, mas indo (shopping). Quando eu estou muito cansado, quero ficar mais quietinho, fico em casa. Porque eu sei que quando eu vou ao shopping não tem como (não ter assédio). Então eu vou com a cara boa, bem legal, sabendo desse assédio. O mais legal é que não está sendo só corintiano. Tirei foto com dois caras com a camisa do Palmeiras, e eles me parabenizaram pelo trabalho. Isso é legal. Não sou polêmico, nunca vou ser na minha vida. Eu sei que quando eu saio de casa, isso vai acontecer. Se eu não quero, fico em casa. Porque ir e ficar com uma cara mais feia, com descontentamento, não faço. Quando eu saio, vou sabendo que isso vai acontecer. E isso está muito legal

E com a família? Como estão as relações depois dos títulos? Suponho que tenha diminuído o tempo juntos pela correria.
Algumas pessoas da minha família se incomodam, mas tem outros mais mascarados que eu, que são meu pai e minha mãe. Putz! Que mala que eles estão (risos). É uma alegria bastante grande, é algo natural. Evitei falar com eles nos últimos tempos, minha mãe é uma pessoa que consegue me irritar mais que qualquer uma (risos). Está bem legal, bem tranquilo, todos aceitando numa boa.

Então você tem essa preocupação de o sucesso não subir à cabeça…
É um desafio. Só de ser auxiliar do Corinthians, se é um cara de deslumbrar, já deslumbra. Fiquei oito anos, fui campeão… E sempre fui o mesmo. Gosto de fazer as mesmas coisas, fico de chinelo. Como auxiliar eu ia para Sertãozinho e ficava à vontade. Hoje em dia sei que tenho que andar melhor vestido, porque é o técnico do Corinthians. São coisas que têm que ter cuidado. Mas se eu não mudei até agora, não mudo mais, não. Alguém pode pensar até nas questões das minhas coletivas que estou cada vez mais solto, é natural. Hoje eu falo mais, mas porque estou mais solto, acostumei. É uma preocupação que eu tinha, enfrentar vocês da imprensa

Jacques Kallis defended like a rock, attacked like The Rock, put behind him the odd play and miss, and scored 120 out of South Africa’s 193 for 2 by tea. Hashim Amla, whom he joined at 6 for 2, gave him the strike when he was in the zone and took charge after tea when India slowed the scoring down with defensive fields and reverse-swing. Both scored unbeaten centuries to put together South Africa’s highest partnership against India and, by stumps, render Zaheer Khan’s opening spell of 6-4-2-2 to a footnote.Zaheer’s burst seemed to have arrested dramatically the chain of events going against India. VVS Laxman couldn’t regain his fitness in time, Rohit Sharma injured himself at the last minute playing football, reserve wicketkeeper Wriddhiman Saha made his debut as a specialist batsman and MS Dhoni lost the toss. Then Zaheer brought relief, but not without some luck.A sharp bouncer from Zaheer hit Ashwell Prince on the arm guard and the batsman was given out caught behind. Perhaps used to the review system, Prince wanted to challenge the decision but had to walk off. There was no luck involved in how Zaheer set him up, though. He beat him with deliveries coming in, got an edge with one that left the batsman, and then finally slipped in the bouncer. Not too short, headed for the face, not giving Prince any room to get out of the way. It didn’t take Zaheer long to squeeze past Graeme Smith’s angled bat either.Then Kallis and Amla took over. Not through a brilliant counterattack right away. When they came together, Ishant Sharma was disciplined in support to Zaheer, and the spinners found disconcerting turn. Scoring took a backseat: the first boundary came in the 10th over, a square cut by Amla, also the first sweetly-timed shot of the series.Spin came on in the 12th over, at 16 for 2, and immediately there was turn. Perhaps too much turn. Amit Mishra spun legbreaks across batsmen on more than one occasion, was denied an lbw because the ball spun too much, and started looking for too much, bowling outside leg too.Kallis remained serene with all this happening around him. Not at the cost of urgency. Frustrated, Mishra tried too hard, looking for the unplayable quick delivery, and when he pitched ever so short, Kallis pulled him over midwicket in back-to-back overs. It ended the period of struggle, taking South Africa to 47 for 2 in the 22nd over, and Kallis level with Amla’s score – 21 not out. Few would have imagined what was to come: when Kallis reached his 34th Test hundred – level with Sunil Gavaskar and Brian Lara – Amla had moved to 38. In close to a couple of hours, Amla had scored 17, Kallis 79, and India had lost initiative.That shouldn’t take credit away from Amla. He came in to bat before Kallis, but by then had faced 50 deliveries fewer, making sure the better batsman faced more bowling.After hitting Mishra out of the attack before lunch, Kallis turned his attention to Harbhajan. Consistently he got outside the line of off stump, making Harbhajan bowl closer and closer. When he got too close and too full, Kallis slog-swept twice, and later played the trademark inside-out drive.Zaheer came back for a spell before lunch, managed some reverse, but he was taken for runs too. Two Kallis shots either side of the break against Zaheer stood out among the many special ones. Zaheer was getting the ball to straighten from round the stumps and managed to square Kallis up on the odd occasion, but twice he strayed narrowly. Kallis waited for those deliveries like only the select few can, and closed the face at the last moment, beating deep fine leg on both occasions. The second of those took him to 85 off 138 balls, out of South Africa’s 124. He had been 12 off 39 at one point.Mishra still kept getting deliveries to spin across Kallis, but none of that carried into the next ball he would face. Of the 89 balls Kallis faced from Mishra, he scored 54 runs. Not bad at all when the bowler is troubling you. The century came in typical fashion. Kallis read a topspinner from Harbhajan from round the stumps, went deep into the crease, let the ball speed on to him, turned the bat face, got it past leg slip, and strolled through for a single. Harbhajan too was picked on by Kallis, going for 45 off 69 deliveries. He couldn’t even manage a maiden.After tea India came out with more defensive field sets, and Kallis with a more peaceful mindset. That’s when Amla took over, using his feet well to Harbhajan and Mishra, scoring through covers against both. Unlike Kallis, he did present two chances. When on 61, he edged Zaheer between Dhoni and M Vijay, closer to the slip than the keeper. On 82, he hit uppishly towards S Badrinath at short mid-on, but the debutant couldn’t dive in front.In the final session, Amla scored 55 of the 92 runs, hitting six boundaries. One of those, a sweep off Virender Sehwag, took him to his eighth hundred. Apart from those two half chances, India failed to create any opportunity on a pitch that had become slower still, and a solid Kallis had eyes firmly set on the elusive double-century.

O grupo de Fernando Horta, então cabeça de chapa da “Mudança com Segurança” na eleição para o Conselho Deliberativo do Vasco no último dia 7, protocolou na secretaria de São Januário nesta quarta-feira um documento pedindo a impugnação da chapa liderada pelo atual presidente Eurico Miranda, da “Reconstruindo o Vasco”. O “UOL” divulgou inicialmente a informação, confirmada pelo LANCE!.

A impugnação da chapa é pedida pelo grupo de Fernando Horta que acusa a chapa Reconstruindo o Vasco de descumprir pontos do estatuto e recorre aos incisos 3 do artigo 60, 1 do 62 e 68 (confira a íntegra das irregularidades apontadas abaixo). O texto aponta que a chapa de Eurico Miranda feriu o estatuto “na medida em que corresponde a fraude eleitoral”.

O texto aponta 15 sócios indicados na chapa Reconstruindo o Vasco com irregularidades e com o pedido de impugnação, há outro pedido para que seja proclamada a chapa Mudança com Segurança como a segunda colocada. Hoje, com decisão liminar da 52ª Vara Cível, a urna 7 não está sendo considerada e a chapa de Julio Brant foi a vencedora na “Sempre Vasco Livre”, com Eurico em segundo e Fernado Horta em terceiro.

Vale lembrar que a chapa vencedora indica 120 sócios na eleição de janeiro, com a segunda colocada indicando 30, totalizando 150 eleitos. Os eleitos juntam-se a 150 natos, totalizando 300 que votam na Diretoria Administrativa, como o cargo de presidente para o próximo triênio. Pela decisão atual da Justiça, os trâmites eleitores seguem normalmente, mas o vencedor iniciará mandato somente após decisão transitado em julgado.

O LANCE! entrou em contato com o Vasco, mas não obteve retorno até o fechamento desta reportagem para posicionamento sobre o caso.

AS IRREGULARIDADES NO DOCUMENTO

O LANCE! teve acesso a íntegra do documento protocolado. Nele, são apresentadas supostas irregularidades da chapa Reconstruindo o Vasco. Na eleição, pelo estatuto, todas as chapas indicam 160 conselheiros, sendo 120 titulares e 40 suplentes. Um dos pontos indicados na denúncia é a de nomes em duplicidade.

O sócio José Augusto Vieira Campos aparece nas posições 78 de titulares e 26 de suplentes da lista da chapa liderada por Eurico Miranda, com Roberto Rodrigues de Queiroz Lima nas posições 22 e 28 dos suplentes. Há destacado no documento do grupo de Fernando Horta que “há de ser reconhecido erro de formulação e consequente exclusão da duplicidade dos associados”.

Outro ponto apresentado é o de nomes de associados que não estão na lista final de elegíveis para a eleição, publicada pelo Vasco após 6 de setembro, data da ata de julgamento da impugnação final da lista. Há pedido para exclusão da totalidade dos nomes por não cumprir o artigo 61 do estatuto, em estrita observância do inciso 1 do artigo 47.

O artigo 47 diz ser essencial para a elegibilidade dos membros do Conselho Deliberativo os sócios terem mais de 21 anos e no mínimo cinco anos consecutivos de efetividade social imediatamente anteriores à data de convocação da eleição. Aparecem os nomes de Dinoel Sant’Anna (posição 10 da lista), Francisco José M. Ferreira (posição 47), Augusto César de Sá (51), Flávio Gonzales Duarte (65), Ivan Mendes Cabral (69), Gabriel Araújo Peralta (70), José Luis Pereira de Araújo (73), Marco Antônio Regis Samico (97), Marcelo Valente Ricardo (posição 2 dos suplentes), Fernando Cesar Correia D’Arribada (4 dos suplentes) e Vinicius Souza Machado (30 dos suplentes).

No último ponto há sócios com vícios cadastrais, como ausência de CPF, números errados de categoria, matrícula e data de admissão. Aparece Anibal Babaioff de Magalhães na posição 40 da lista, com a matrícula na lista de elegíveis correspondente a André Luis B. de Magalhães e de Rogério dos Santos Abreu, posição 113 da lista, com a matrícula na lista de elegíveis correspondendo a Domingos dos Reis Fernandes.

Alguns jogadores do Cruzeiro voltaram a treinar na Toca da Raposa na tarde desta quinta-feira. Alisson, que foi poupado diante do Avaí, devido a dores musculares, treinou com o grupo normalmente. Outro jogador que também apareceu em campo foi Arrascaeta, desfalque do Cruzeiro nos últimos três jogos. O atleta participou apenas do “bobinho”, atividade de aquecimento. Já o volante argentino Ariel Cabral, que se recupera de uma lesão no tornozelo esquerdo, participou de todo o treinamento. O próximo confronto da Raposa é o Vitória, neste domingo, às 17h (de Brasília), pela 35ª rodada do Campeonato Brasileiro. O técnico Mano Menezes não terá à disposição os meias Thiago Neves e Robinho, visto que os dois cumprirão suspensão automática. Para substituí-los, o treinador deve optar por Arrascaeta e Alisson. Murilo, que cumpriu suspensão contra o Avaí, deve retomar a titularidade.
